Bring your plans, leave with a planting list
Shipping policy
We deliver throughout the Republic of Ireland using our own vehicles and specialist couriers, and you can collect your order free of charge from our nursery in Celbridge. This page explains what delivery costs, how long it takes, and what to expect on the day.
Where we deliver
We deliver to addresses in the Republic of Ireland only. Plant health rules on moving plants out of the State mean we do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland, Great Britain or elsewhere in the EU. If you are outside the Republic, contact us and we will tell you what is possible.
What delivery costs
The delivery charge depends on the size of what you are buying and where it is going, and includes VAT. For most items it is calculated automatically at checkout from your address and shown before you pay. Trees over 1.5 m need a lifting crew and equipment, so we quote those individually and confirm the full delivery cost in writing before you pay.
Quoted deliveries are priced on driving time and the number of people and machines needed to unload safely. One charge covers one delivery to one address, however many items are on it. If we are planting for you, delivery is included in your planting quotation.
How long delivery takes
For plants we have in stock, we will have your order picked and ready within two working days. We will then call you to agree a delivery date. We call again the day before, and once more before the vehicle leaves the nursery.
Some plants are sourced to order from our growers in Ireland and across Europe. For these, we give you a delivery date only once the grower has confirmed a shipping date in writing. We email you that date, tell you the same day if it changes, and never leave you more than 14 days without an update.
If we have not agreed a date with you, we will deliver within 30 days of your order. If we cannot deliver by the agreed date or within 30 days, you can cancel the order and we will refund everything you have paid, including delivery.
Kerbside delivery and access
Delivery is to the kerbside or the entrance to your property, as close as we can safely get. We do not carry plants through houses, up steps or into back gardens unless you have booked our planting service.
Mature trees can weigh several hundred kilos and some need machinery to unload. When you order, please tell us about anything that affects access: gate and driveway widths, steep or soft ground, overhead cables, low branches, and parking or road restrictions. If we arrive and cannot unload safely because of something we were not told about, we will agree a new date with you and may charge for the wasted journey at the same rate as the original delivery.
Payment before unloading
Online orders are paid in full at checkout. For orders taken by phone or in the nursery, any balance must be paid before the delivery leaves us, or at the latest before we unload. Our drivers cannot unload goods that have not been paid for, and they will call our office if there is any question about payment.
Receiving your delivery
Please make sure someone aged 18 or over is there to receive the delivery. Check the plants against the delivery docket, note any damage or missing items on the docket before signing, and take a photograph if you can. The driver will also sign and note the time.
If you have asked us to leave goods without anyone present, the driver will photograph them where they were left. The plants are your responsibility from the moment they are delivered to you, or to the person or place you have nominated.
If anything arrives damaged, incorrect or missing, please tell us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, so that we can put it right quickly. This request does not limit your legal rights, which are explained in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Collecting from the nursery
Collection from our nursery is free. Choose collection at checkout and we will email you when your order is ready. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice of when you are coming, and bring your order number.
We will help you load, but please make sure your vehicle or trailer is suitable for the size of what you are collecting. Our team can advise you before you travel.
We care for your plants for up to 14 days after we tell you they are ready. If you need longer, let us know and we will try to help. If we have not heard from you after 14 days, we will contact you to arrange collection or delivery.
The nursery is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sundays and bank holidays from 10am to 5pm, at Stacumny Lane, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, W23 HN6Y.
When your plants arrive
Water your plants as soon as they arrive, even in winter, and keep them in a sheltered spot out of strong sun and wind until you plant them. Do not leave container plants standing in saucers of water. Every plant comes with care guidance, and our horticulturists are happy to advise by phone or email.
Plant health
Every plant we supply carries a plant passport where the law requires one, and we follow the plant health rules set by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Very occasionally an official movement restriction or inspection can delay an order. If that happens, we will tell you straight away and give you the option of waiting or cancelling for a full refund.
Trade customers
Delivery for trade account customers is quoted per order as a separate line, and larger quantities may be delivered direct from the grower to your site. Your trade account terms apply.
