The Plant Collector is a 6 acre visitor friendly nursery dedicated to growing, sourcing and supplying high quality mature trees and specimen plants in Celbridge, Co. Kildare. Our nursery was founded in early 2022 by Dermot Kerins of Outlook Gardens, with the purpose of providing the Irish trade and public with high quality, mature specimen trees and plants that can't be found anywhere else in Ireland.

The Plant Collector nursery stocks a curated collection of over 4,000 species of plants showcased and displayed in a beautiful, garden-like setting.

All our plants in stock have been individually hand picked due to their maturity, unique characteristics or excellent performance in Irish weather and soil conditions.

Our specialist showcase nursery gives our customers the opportunity to admire each unique plant and tree individually and to personally select the very ones that will be used in their garden.

Our team of professional horticulturists is always at hand to offer advice and guidance on planting combinations, design and planting.

We source our largest trees from the best growers in Europe, as well as having a small production area in our nursery for hedging elements and shrubs.

Over the years, we have formed solid relationships with trust-worthy European growers that produce high quality, healthy trees and take special care in developing strong root systems.

We currently have in stock mature trees up to 6m tall and as old as 70 years old. However, we also sell smaller and medium trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials.

Our trees and plants are fertilised with high quality organic seaweed feed, and potted in fertile, 100% Irish and organic, screened and enriched topsoil mixed with compost. We regularly prune our trees & shrubs to maintain balanced, dense and well shaped crowns. Our largest trees are potted in Air-pots to ensure the health of their root systems.

All our trees and plants have their own plant passport and are properly specified with genus, species and variety or cultivar names. All size descriptions are true to size, meaning measurements are of plants excluding rootballs or pots.

We pride ourselves in offering exceptional personal service and professional advice on site 6 days a week.

Our two expert horticulturists Finn Hayes and Richard Fitzgerald have over 15 years industry experience and are always on site to help you select the perfect trees and plants for your garden project.

Our two head garden designers Dermot Kerins and Kathryn Feely have over 20 years experience in their field and are both award-winning professionals ready to help you design and achieve a beautiful and impactful garden.

A professional team of landscapers, retail & sales assistants, marketing & content managers and adminstrators form the core of our team and help run The Plant Collector every day.

For our trade partners and clients we offer a reservable room overlooking our beautiful pond, equipped with a large office desk and chairs, comfortable sofas, a large TV and complimentary gourmet coffee and snacks. Should you wish to bring your clients to view and select trees and discuss your design project, you can book this room anytime by contacting us.
